About Us

The most effective way to reach Minnesota's growing Latino community.

Company History

Latino Communications Network was formed in April 2000. We began operations by brokering newspaper ads for market leading Latino newspapers and managing the Spanish-language yellow pages, the Minnesota Hispanic Directory. Later that year, we also launched Vida y Sabor, Minnesota's first Latino entertainment magazine.

In 2002, the company merged with Nuestra Gente, Minnesota's largest all-Spanish newspaper. The newspaper's publisher, Juan Carlos Alanis, became Latino Communications Vice President of Production, and the name of the paper was changed to Gente de Minnesota.

By 2003, we had built a base of small-business and corporate clients, and we realized that our clients were interested in services beyond print advertising. To meet this need, we partnered with several local events groups to offer event sponsorships and create independent events. In addition, we added a direct mail list to our list of products in the fall of 2003.

A great step in our expansion happened at the end of 2005, when in partnership with Davidson Media we launched our own radio station "La Invasora 1400", KLNV 1400 AM.

"La Invasora," with its Mexican Regional format, is quickly becoming the number one Latino radio station in the Twin Cities.

We started 2006 with great news.  After months of negotiations, LCN acquired  "La Prensa de Minnesota", the oldest and most recognized Latino publication in Minnesota.  La Prensa has been revamped with a new layout and a fully bilingual format geared towards reaching the bicultural Latino community and the community at large.

LCN will continue to innovate and to expand our media and marketing services to remain the most effective way to reach Minnesota's Latino community.
